About Jackie Robinson

Grief, loss, trauma, the body, memory, and emotional and physical pain are common themes in my work. They are intertwined with surrealist influences that compel me to create works that capture the energy of dreams or nightmares. It all is deeply personal, but I aim to elicit responses that are visceral, cerebral, and profound. I draw from my connection with divinity, and tend to incorporate celestial imagery into my work, reminding me of my place in “space.” These themes are a result of my fascination with science, philosophy, science fiction, the psychoanalysis of self and breaking down the ego, and the workings of the universe.

About Khrista Estrada

I spend a lot of time trying to grasp memories of a place and time I once knew and yet navigating maturity when still being a child displaced my connection to memories I’ve tried my best to hold on to. My works attempt to  capture the longing of a childhood that I miss and faintly remember by incorporating fun and playful elements. Growing older doesn’t mean you have to stop loving the youthful things that bring you happiness.

“When we imagine, dream, remember, reminisce, or hallucinate, we contain the ability to exist in a liminal space where anything is possible, and the impossible is merely a limit of our own design.

The freedom to create your own fantasy sometimes can be more valuable and healing than staying fixated on the things that are always out of our control.”
